    What is 2k aerosol?

2K aerosol is a pressure dispenser as self-contained package, and has at least two parts of components. When the two components are mixing in the aerosol can, they forms a mixture. The mixture is dispersed and form aerosol under the propellant pressure when the nozzle is pressed.

    What is 1k aerosol paint?

1K aerosol paints contain the solutions of thermoplastics dissolved in solvents. The polymers without reactive functional groups are called thermoplastics. Because it becomes soft under heating. 1K aerosol paints form film when the solvents evaporated. The dried film of 1k aerosol is re-soluble with original solvent, and therefore, called lacquer.

What are the disadvantages of 1k aerosol paints?

Polymer properties depend on molecular weights. High molecular weights are required for polymers that provide useful properties. That is why polymer science is called macromolecular science. However, high molecular weight thermoplastics are difficult to be dissolved in solvents. For increasing solubility, reduce molecular weight, and therefore, sacrifices properties. 1K aerosol paints form film after solvents evaporated. 1K aerosol paints made of thermoplastics contains typically 3-5% of solids. Low solids mean low coverage. Because there is no chemical bonding between thermoplastics and substrates. The lack of bonding means low adhesion to the substrates. Thermoplastics are re-dissoluble by many solvents. They are not resistant to solvent or chemicals. Other properties, such as weathering resistance, mechanical strength, etc., are very poor. That is why 1K aerosol paints are unacceptable for industrial standards.

What is the 2k aerosol paint?

There are two types of 2k aerosol paints. The first type of 2k aerosol paints contains reactive functional polymer or oligomer in the first component, and the second component contains cross-linker. When the two components mixing, the reactive functional polymer or oligomer react with cross-linker and form reactive mixture. The final product of the reactive mixture are cross-linked macromolecules. The second type of 2k aerosol paints contain reactive polymer or oligomer in first component, and the second component contains catalyst or initiator. When the two components mixing, the reactive functional polymer or oligomer react under the action of catalyst or initiator. The final product either the cross-linked macromolecule or polymers with high molecular weights. Paint consists of cross-linked macromolecules are insoluble in original solvents, and therefore, is called enamel.

What are the advantages of 2k aerosol paint?

The final products of 2k aerosol paints are either cross-linked macromolecules or high molecular weight polymers. Since 2K aerosol paints can use polymer, oligomer and cross-linker which have low molecular weights in original components. Therefore, high solids 2K aerosol paints are possible. For example 40-60% solids of 2K aerosol paints can be prepared. It means one bottle of 2K aerosol paints equal to 10-20 bottles of 1K aerosol paints. Since the final products of 2k aerosol paints contain high molecular weight polymers or cross-linked macromolecules. The cross-linked macromolecules have superior properties of mechanic strength, chemical and solvent resistances comparing to low molecular weight thermoplastics. The exist of reactive functional groups of 2k aerosol pants provide the opportunity to form strong chemical bonding between macromolecules and substrates. Cross-linked 2k enamel are heat resistant, they do not soften under heating.

What properties of 2k fluoro-urethane are best suitable for refinish coatings?

Material properties are essential. 2k aerosol fluoro-urethane combine the best paint material with application convenience of aerosol. Fluoro-urethane is true stain-resistant due to its excellent chemical resistance, water repellent (hydrophobic), and oil repellent oleophobic). Hydrocarbon coatings, such as epoxy, acrylic, or urethane are intimates to hydrocarbon materials. Therefore they are oleophilic. Most of hydrocarbon coatings have high water absorption. Those materials are neither chemical resistant, nor stain-resistant. Fluoro-urethane is resistant of boiling water and most chemicals. Hydrocarbon coatings, such as epoxy and acrylic are failure in boiling water. Epoxy is liable to both acidic and solvent attacks. Acrylic and urethane are liable to acidic, alkali, and solvent attacks. Many chemicals attack epoxy and acrylic. Cleaners, such as concentrate acidic cleaners, concentrate alkali cleaners, or cleaners contain solvents attack hydrocarbon polymers such as epoxy, acrylic, or urethane.

What is extra advantage of your 2k fluoro-urethane aerosol paints?

We specially formulate 2k fluoro-urethane with two functions: self-cleaning and primer-less.

    What means self-cleaning?

There are three kinds of stains: hydrophilic, oleophilic and chemical reactive. If a surface is hydrophilic, water soluble stain or mildew will bond to the surface. If a surface is oleophilic, a hydrocarbon oil intimate stain will bond the surface. If the surfaces are unstable toward the chemicals, the chemical reactive stain will bond the surfaces. Fluoro-urethane coated surfaces are hydrophobic and oleophobic (oil repellent), and chemical stable. That is why the fluoro-urethane coated surfaces are stain resistant.
Our specially formulated 2k fluoro-urethane have micro-and nanometer perfluoro-particles that mimic natural self-cleaning surfaces of Asian lotus. The perfluoro-particles provides extra hydrophobic and oil repellent properties. They are very easy to keeping cleaning.

How to clean fluoro-urethane coated surfaces?

For example, a bathtub was coated with 2k fluoro-urethane and the drainage system is in good shape, when people take shower, the dirty will go with the water. It is called self-cleaning. If the drainage system has problem, or the water cannot flow. The dirty will be cumulate. If a fluoro-urethane coated surface is covered with stain, you need soft foam with a cleaner to remove stains. If water repellence reduced, using acidic cleaner and water to remove soap scum. If oily scum cumulated, use alkali cleaner and water washing. It soil and hard water deposit cumulated, use acidic cleaner and water washing. If waterborne paint dropped on coated surfaces, use alkali and acidic cleaners. If solvent borne paint or graphite painted on the surfaces, use water and detergent or solvent, such as xylene to cleaning the surface. Never use a ketone solvent to clean the surface. Never use nylon scrub or abrasive cleaners. No scrubbing will be necessary. If glass beads or sand broadcasted non-skid fluoro-urethane coated surfaces hold dirty, use long hair soft brush with detergent solution to clean the surfaces.

    What means primer-less?

Common paints require primers to bond between substrates and paints. Fluoropolymers are difficult to be hold on substrates due to their anti-adhering nature. Our research solved the bond problem and provides the primer-less 2k fluoro-urethane paint.

What about non-skid surface even when wet?

The basic physics behind the slipping is that: when water can form continuous film between a foot and a smooth hydrophilic surface, the surface is slipping. A continuous water film can not form between a foot and a water repellent surface (hydrophobic), or between a foot and coarse surface, therefore, it is non-skid even when wet.
However, if soap or soap scum cover or is cumulated on hydrophobic surfaces the hydrophobic surfaces turn to hydrophilic, and surfaces become slipping. Therefore, for remaining non-skid, a smooth hydrophobic surfaces require to keep clean for keeping non-skid property. If clean surfaces can not be guaranteed, coarse surfaces become the only selection.
A coarse surface is always non-skid even it is hydrophilic. However, it is well known that a coarse surface absorbs and cumulates soil and dirty. Hydrocarbon coatings do not provide stain-resistance for coarse surfaces. Fluoro-urethane coated coarse not only provides stain-resistance for coarse surfaces. The water repellent property enhances wet friction of coarse surfaces.
The combination of coarse surface with fluoro-urethane coating provides non-skid, stain-resistant, and water repellent properties. Since fluoro-urethane coating covers the coarse surfaces, those coarse surfaces are still easy to be kept clean.

What substrates your 2k primer-less paints can bond on?

The surface consists of oxide or the surface contain oxide. There are several groups fit in those category: the porcelain, ceramics, glass, cement, natural stone, metal surfaces with anodizing treatment, metal surfaces formed by natural oxidation process, the paints containing metal oxide pigments, the plastics containing metal oxide pigments, wood, leather, textile and all common primer, plasma treated polyethylene or polypropylene.

What substrate surface conditions are required?

The surfaces should be clean and mechanically strong same as all painting practice. Detergent water, clean water wash, sanding with sand papers are easiest way to remove surface contamination.

What precaution should take care for substrate surfaces??

Silicone, wax, grease, oil should be totally removed. Use vinyl or latex gloves and never touch the surfaces with bare fingers.

What are colors of 2k aerosol paints?

Human can distinguish millions of millions of color hues. It is impossible for any company to stock paints with so many colors. Color communication are complex. The color of paints are the light after absorption of source light by pigments. It is principle different seen on monitors. On computer screen you see mixing emission dots of red, green, and blue colors defined by hexadecimal (HEX) value. Color printing uses the mixing color dots of of cyan, magenta, yellow and black. Color paints do not use color dots. For match 11,000 paint refinish colors on market, a minimum 70 tinters (opaque, metallic, transparent, pearly and special effects) are required. Exact color match is impossible. Two batch of pigment mixing with exact same formulation produce color with a little different hues. For example, on auto assembling line color expert is needed to select door to match a auto body.

What color code used for 2k aerosol paints?

There is no united color communication standard. We adopt three color codes, the standards: the Federal Standard 595B colors,  PPG color cards for Import and Domestic Color information, and Sherwin-Williams color cards for aircraft. We can accurately match those colors and manufacture 2k fluoro-urethane aerosol paints, if reasonable order amount are placed.
